Position Summary
Nurse Navigators, as employees of LSU Health Sciences Center, will integrate patient navigation services into Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) programs funded by the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC). Nurse Navigators will create and enhance partnerships with community organizations in Louisiana and will perform duties within the three (3) focus areas: Systems Coordination; Navigation and Outreach; Data Collection and Reporting. System Coordination efforts will require the incumbent(s) to collaborate with a variety of community partners and clinicians to identify and refer individuals for cancer screenings and clinical care. Outreach efforts will include identifying barriers to screenings and guidance on overcoming barriers to enrolled patients. Incumbent(s) will also be responsible for ensuring all related data is tracked in the appropriate databases and will generate reports as needed for dissemination. This position requires travel to locations within the state of Louisiana. The incumbent(s) in this position are required to secure their own transportation to meet the responsibilities of the position. Transportation expenses may be reimbursed if in compliance with travel regulations.
