General Summary

The Travel Coordinator is responsible for travel-related activities for LSI, to include processing travel requests, booking flights, hotels, car rentals, and other accommodations as necessary. The Travel Coordinator maintains travel records and prepares expense reports for employee-owners.

Essential Job Functions

  • Arranges travel and accommodations for employee-owners, both domestic and international.
  • Obtains approval for travel requests and expenses that exceed established limits.
  • Communicates and follows up with travelers to ensure all travel needs are met.
  • Maintains travel records and prepares expense reports.
  • Works closely with the Travel Administrator to ensure compliance with company policy.
  • Supplies travel estimates to Project Managers for contract proposals.
  • Assists the Accounting Department with additional tasks as requested.
  • Works a standard weekly schedule of 40 hours with overtime as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possesses a good understanding of travel requirements; preferably with the governments Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and exercise good judgement in decision-making.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by the contract.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years travel coordinator experience required.
  • Experience with coordinating travel for a government contractor highly preferred.
