The Retail Quality Compliance Regional Manager achieves the highest quality and food safety standards with internal service centers and regulatory and certification bodies, including HACCP, FSIS, FDA, BRC and other outside quality authorities, to guarantee the compliance for retail and food commerce.
Quality Assurance
Provide coaching and training to CSC leadership on all food safety, quality, and problem-solving programs for Food Commerce.
Facilitate Training of all Food Commerce quality and food safety related documentation including HACCP, FSIS, FDA, BRC and other outside quality authorities.
Conduct vendor inspections to qualify or verify vendors with procurement and assist with supplier accreditation.
Function as main point of contact and coordination for regulatory / service center compliance in Food Commerce.
Provide department with data and results from audits and assist with data tracking and management.
Perform shelf life and conformity studies prior to product launches
Conduct internal audits for customer and BRC compliance.
Monitor and maintain the elevated level of regulatory compliance with the established programs and development of new opportunities by continuing to grow the culture of quality.
Act as food commerce lead company regulatory liaison as needed to ensure new product and labeling compliance
Ensure customer requirements relevant to quality, food safety and communications are met and exceeded as the principal customer quality and food safety liaison.
Provide assistance in resolving service provider incident (Product Recall) and consumer service issues directly with the customer, regulatory agencies, and CSC.
Manage and maintain all documentation according to USDA, FDA, BRC and Company requirements
Annual review and development of HACCP plans and plans for new product lines.
Identify and utilize methods to deliver individual objectives in a high quality manner to meet project timelines
Provide monthly progress reports for distribution to Senior leadership
Design, develop and implement tools to promote the internalization of processes and quality culture
Assist with development of future tools and resources for operating procedures and training
Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing
Leadership
Model corporate values and participate as required in groups, initiatives, and advisory bodies
Proactively support other departments and functions as the Subject Matter Expert
Implement performance management objectives for direct reports
USDA New Facility Setup (Download Application-Regulatory Compliance-CSC Inspections)
Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, or related field preferred
Five to seven years experience with Quality Assurance, USDA, FDA, Food Safety or HACCP required
Experience in conducting external and internal audits
Able to create HACCP, SSOP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) plans
Able to create HACCP, SSOP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Certified internal auditor preferred
Basic Operational knowledge of Modified Atmospheric Packaging (MAP) and testing procedures
Proactive problem-solving and creative decision-making skills
Strong organizational skills required.
Experience in a team-based management and multi-unit environment
Ability to facilitate groups and communicate effectively at all levels in the organization.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills with analytical, organizational, and planning expertise
Ability to facilitate groups and experience in writing training materials preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Windows-based computer applications
May require up to 40% travel
