Role Purpose Statement

LSG Sky Chefs is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Meal Order Coordinator to join our team. The Meal Order Coordinator will be responsible for managing the meal ordering process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of meals to our airline clients. This position plays a critical role in coordinating between various departments to meet customer demands and maintain operational efficiency.

Main Accountabilities

  • Meal Ordering: Coordinate with airline clients to accurately forecast meal requirements based on flight schedules, passenger counts, and dietary preferences.

  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for airline clients regarding meal orders, inquiries, and updates. Maintain clear and consistent communication to ensure client satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.

  • Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments including production, procurement, and logistics to ensure seamless execution of meal orders. Coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and suppliers to meet order deadlines and quality standards.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of meal orders, including specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules. Generate reports as needed to track order status, inventory levels, and performance metrics.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to meal orders, such as shortages, substitutions, or quality concerns. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and enhance overall efficiency.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and airline requirements throughout the meal ordering process. Adhere to company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the meal ordering process. Propose and implement solutions to enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in customer service, order management, or logistics, preferably in the airline catering industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in data entry and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with order management software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and airline catering standards is desirable.
