About the Role:

We are currently seeking a full-time Software Engineer located in Baltimore, MD. This can be a largely remote position after a suitable introductory period. The ideal candidate will be an expert developer with a breadth of knowledge of many topics in computer science, experienced working with large and diverse code bases, highly motivated, efficient, and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Migrate large, existing python 2.7 code base to 3.x
• Develop and maintain testing framework for large code base
• Maintain and provide ongoing support for critical business systems.
• Develop systems and tools used for trading with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a quantitative field
• Possess expertise in software engineering/object oriented design
• Are proficient in analyzing algorithm complexity and optimizing performance
• Have strong background with relational database design and data transfer (e.g SQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Are experienced in best practices in software quality assurance (QA)
• Have familiarity with Linux/UNIX/BSD system administration
• Hold 5 years experience in object-oriented software development with Python, Java, or C/C -- 1 years experience in Python development required
• Hold 2 years industry experience preferred, but online code repositories (github, sourceforge, gitlab, etc) may be submitted for review in lieu of commercial experience
• Are knowledgeable of mathematical optimization, linear algebra, and statistics a plus!
• Are comfortable learning and working independently
