Tax Associate Private Equity & Real Estate Practice

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Associates focus on tax compliance of private equity, Hedge Funds, venture and real estate funds, and serve as members of various client service teams.
• Must possess technical knowledge of tax preparation and compliance related to pass-through entities.
• In addition to the preparation of tax returns, Tax Associates may assist Seniors/Managers in identifying client issues and research as they become more experienced.
• Tax Associates must possess and maintain strong written and oral presentation skills.

Skills Required:

• 1-2 years of fund tax accounting or partnership taxation experience
• Knowledge of foreign reporting requirements and/or exposure to state tax returns a plus
• Experience with BNA, CCH, Checkpoint or other tax research tools a plus, not required
• Experience with fund accounting/tax software (Advent Geneva, NTAS CCH,FastTax/GoSystems) a plus
• Strong computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Excel & other Microsoft Office products
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree and/or an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD or L.L.M. is a plus, but not required
• Strong analyticalskills and strong attention to detail
• Initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of internal and client personnel
• CPA, Enrolled Agent or other appropriate certification a plus, but not required
