Job Description :The Vice President of Annuities will lead the operational and service support for the Annuity Order Entry platform, along with overall functional strategy and goal setting for the team. The Annuity team is comprised of three sub teams (1-Service Experience, 2-Operations, and 3-Transformation & Technology). The VP will lead the Annuity department to provide superior service to our advisors, expand our capabilities to meet the growing needs of our customer base, scale the operations to meet the increasing annuity volumes supported at LPL and manage risk for the department. The ideal candidate will be a proven people leader (strong developer of talent and proven ability to cultivate strong team culture). In addition, the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to adapt quickly and easily to change and have a proven track record of iteratively transforming processes and experiences in the financial services space.
Responsibilities:
  • General management of the Annuity team, with specific focus on managing people leaders and providing support to all aspects (Annuity Service Experience, Annuity Operations, and Annuity Transformation & Technology). Strong focus on building bench-strength, empowering team members and elevating capabilities of the collective team.
  • Recommends and implements improvements based on findings.
  • Utilize key operational and transactional data to derive actionable insights that will improve operational performance and advisor experience. Develops and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track progress of team.
  • Estimates resource needs and timelines needed to achieve department goals and determine need for additional staffing resources. Ensure annuity team provides best in class service experiences for our advisors, institutions and enterprises.
  • Support strategic partners internally and externally in relation to annuity purchases, in force transactions and transitions. Ensure needed resources, trainings and onboarding support is provided as new advisors/institutions/enterprises onboard to ensure smooth transition of their annuity business to LPL.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the department comprised of ~ 43 team members and growing. Evaluate trends and emerging issues affecting current business strategies and surface new strategic opportunities. Make improvement recommendations (supported by data and metrics) to Executive Leadership Team. Develop, prioritize and execute a roadmap for the strategic vision of organization and department. Ownership and strategic management of vendor and carrier/sponsor relationships. Act a liaison between LPL and Key Industry groups to continue to progress the annuity experience.
  • Stays apprised of key industry developments and trends. Assume leadership role within industry working groups to represent LPL’s interests. Maintain productive relationships with key business partners across Trading, Compliance, Product, Technology, and Supervision and Annuity vendors to facilitate cross-organizational communications, coordination, and transparency. Work closely with internal business units to reduce handoffs and maintain best practices and efficiencies between teams.
  • Represent the Annuities team to drive forward improvements to the Annuity platform for our advisors and create efficiencies for both our advisors and home office.
  • Identify innovative solutions and opportunities to add value. Ensure successful implementation, and communication of enhancements to drive forward the annuity roadmap.
  • Help inform needed changes to LPL systems, workflows, training plans and content, Resource Center content, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage risk for the department. Represent the Annuities team in audits and other control oversight activities. Ensure business continuity plans in place and consistently updated. Consistently evaluate controls and implement changes to address new or emerging risks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field preferred or work experience equivalent
  • 7 years of experience leading teams preferably in the Financial Services or Annuity space.
  • Series 99 required,
Preferences:
  • Series 7 and 24 preferred
  • Yellow Belt or higher certification levels of Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Microsoft Power Point, Excel, and Word\
Core Competencies:
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior Service Skills demonstrated through previous feedback
  • Experience managing inbound call center team preferred.
  • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to various situations
Pay Range: $135,320-$202,980/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
