About the Job

In this role, the Nuclear Medical Coordinator Support patient care by managing the daily flow of patient thru the department by ensuring that all cameras are operating within department and manufacturer specifications, ensuring that staff nuclear medicine technologists are following assigned rotations, and maintaining that appropriate technologist coverage as required for patient testing and safety. Monitor staff performance for adherence to department, division, and medical center standards. Coordinates ordering and delivery of

radiopharmaceuticals. Coordinates staffing levels and patient schedules as well as assisting with urgent add-on exams

What you'll do:

  • Organizes the daily flow schedule of patients to the various testing rooms to minimize confusion and delays in testing. Respond to the needs of outside personnel regarding patient testing status and add-on procedures requested by referring physicians. Ensure proper charge coding is maintained daily. Problem solving and assist in implementing new changes. Ensures that radiopharmaceutical orders are placed for NM and PET/CT exams.
  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals with appropriate consideration of the patient's age and weight, in accordance with dosing schedules approved by the medical director.
  • Other as assigned

Here's what you'll need:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
  • 6-10 years of previous job-related experience
  • Details: Preferred industry work experience as a Nuclear Medicine Applications Specialist with a major medical equipment or radiopharmaceutical vendor.

Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

  • Basic Life Support (CPR) from AHA- American Heart Association only.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)

Preferred:

  • Computer Assisted Tomography (CT Technologist)

Other: REQUIRED: Registered Nuclear Medicine - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and Nuclear Medicine licensure State of Illinois - Illinois Emergency Management Association (IEMA
