Dialysis Nurse - Full Time (T/T/S) Leading Manhattan based dialysis center seeking a NYS licensed Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 years of experience as a hemodialysis Nurse. Responsibilities: Staff Nurse is responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse in the supervision of the direct patient care staff, the operations of the nursing department, implementation and monitoring compliance to the facility’s policies and procedures and ensuring patient safety. Staff Nurse is a member of the patient care services leadership team and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team members in achieving patient outcomes. Training and supervision of designated nursing staff and technicians. Responsible for the application of dialysis nursing skills in delivery of treatment to patient, including venipuncture, medication administration (incl. IV), blood draws, performance of blood clotting times hematocrits, recognition of cardiac arrests and performance of CPR. Supervision of the RNs, CHT and PCT staff members. Participates in defining, maintaining and interpreting the standards of nursing practice. Participates in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to the delivery of nursing care. Participates in departmental committees affecting policies of nursing practice. Utilizes professional skills, knowledge and judgment in administering patient care. Responsible for patient assessments, interpretation of patient clinical data, and initiating and altering nursing care goals. Participates in Comprehensive Patient Assessment and Plan of Care. Maintains professional competence in nursing practice. Records, interpreting and reporting patient responses and collaborates with appropriate members of the interdisciplinary care team.Participates in team conferences and in additions or changes in the N.C.P. for each assigned patient.
