Reports to: Consumer Lending Manager

Purpose: Interview credit union loan applicants, professionally representing the credit union throughout the process. Research background information on loan applicants and resolve discrepancies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all members feel welcome to the credit union and are supported professionally in the process.
• Interview loan applicants in person or by phone.
• Gather background information on loan applicants such as, but not limited to source of income, financial statement, tax return and check for any discrepancies.
• Review loan applications for completeness; request additional documentation, as necessary.
• Obtain credit reports (if needed) and complete review sheet.
• Present a complete loan application with supporting documents to the underwriter.

• Communicate loan decision to the member.

• Prepare and mail an adverse action letter for loans that were denied, or counter offered.
• Scheduled loans for closing.
• Prepare closing documents and book loans.
• Maintain a filing system and procedures to monitor that the required documentation is received and maintained appropriately and according to policies and procedures. ie: Scan and save documents.
• Collect documentation needed for Business and Commercial real estate annual review and submit complete package to the reviewer.

Business annual loan review

• Site visit to existing small business clients to see how business is doing, identify problems before loan is endangered and how can help
• Create tracking system to ensure regular visits
• Maintain accurate loan file
• SBA 1502 reporting (monthly)
• Submit loan to SBA
• Loan deferment Reporting -updates
• Update Annual review reports.
• Business Loan Report-Board update (15th of the month)
• Pipeline Report for Business and HDFC- this report must be submitted the date before the pipeline meeting is requested. Report must be updated accordingly

Other Duties:

• Follow CU internal control Policy and Procedures.
• Cross-sell credit union services while assisting members with specific requests; answer inquiries from members and potential members regarding credit union membership and services.

• Attend professional development seminars, workshops and trainings.
• Answer inquiries or cross sell CU services from members and potential members re: CU membership and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the credit union.
• Ongoing, review credit union consumer and Commercial loan policies, procedures and suggest improvements where appropriate.
