General Statement of Duties: A cashier is responsible for maintaining a superior level of customer service to help achieve the stores sales and profitability objectives. Cashiers accurately and efficiently process sales and service the stores customers in such a way as to encourage return customer visits.
Specific Duties: Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting every customer.
Comply with all legal aspects of the stores FDA mandated compliance policy.
Accurately handle all cash and credit transactions to eliminate overages and shortages.
Maintain correct cigarette counts.
Stocking and cleaning duties to maintain and enhance the stores appearance inside and outside. Evaluate customer purchases to suggest other products they may be interest in to increase the stores profitability.
Remain current on all new products and promotions.
Comply with all operational procedures for maintaining the stores safety and security practices. Resolve customer problems in a professional manor showing patience and respect at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Position Requirements: Must be 21 years of age. This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. This position requires excellent oral communication skills and requires a high level of inter-personal relationship skills with the public and personnel at all levels within the organization.
Must be able to read, write, count, accurately complete computer documentation and run a point of sale register.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, bend and lift, move up to 50lbs of merchandise occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
Ability to work a variety of hours and days; including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.'
