Job Summary

The position of CDL Turf Driver within our logistics operations is home based out of Bamberg, SC farm and travels to various service territories throughout North and South Carolina.

The ideal candidate is an ethical, hard working, energetic, positive-thinking, detail oriented and motivated individual with high quality standards and an appropriate skill set.

This role reports directly to the Logistics Manager and will be responsible for delivering and / or picking up sod to and from work sites.

The CDL Turf Driver may also load and unload the vehicles as needed.

This position is expected to work 10-11 hour shifts. Days will vary with business levels, weather and seasonality; however typical shifts begin at 7 : 00am and the work week if from Sunday through Thursday.

This position is a salaried-exempt position with compensation commensurate with experience.

Candidates for this position must have a working mobile phone with a prominent provider to ensure service availability. A suitable reimbursement will be provided for usage related to work.

Job Responsibilities

• Load trucks, secure loads, drive to job sites, unload Sod pallets at job sites using equipment safely and appropriately.
• Perform necessary daily inspections of delivery trucks and delivery equipment, including fluids, fuel, tires, lights etc.
• Properly record and keep all required daily log books and maintenance records relevant to operation of a Class A vehicle, state and federal requirements.
• Basic mechanical ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to vehicle and equipment when needed.
• Portray a company image of professionalism at all times and in all situations and provide exceptional customer service when dealing with our customer base.
• Adhere to all company safety and operational policies and procedures at all times
• Adhere and follow all federal and state regulations as required by DOT (FMCSA).

Job Requirements

• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (0 points).
• Current DOT Physical and Medical Certificate qualified for 2 years.
• Pass a federal drug screen / test.
• CDL A or CDL B with NO RESTRICTIONS.
• Able to operate automatic and manual transmission.
• Provide minimum of 3 professional references.

Education / Experience / Skills

Minimum of 5 years of CDL commercial vehicle driving experience. Minimum of 10 years verifiable employment history (non driving experience is acceptable for the 10 year requirement).
