Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. This is a paid position that requires experience working with students and a strong background in early childhood education.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans
- Support students in their educational and social development
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to create a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior
- Provide individualized attention and support to students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
- Assist with classroom activities, including group projects, arts and crafts, and outdoor play
- Help students develop their math skills through interactive activities and games
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum is a plus
