A Day in the Life as a Home Health Aide
Place of Employment:
Client’s home, work outside of the client’s home and other work sites as required by LoveBird HQ management.
Accountable to LoveBird HQ’s Director, Administrator, Manager.
Job Summary:
The Home Health Aide takes care of clients who may be afflicted with an illness and/or disability; clients may also be the elderly who may need care – but in all these cases the clients are in their homes.
Responsibilities:
Help patients with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing and other daily tasks.
Records patient information by making entries in the patient journal and notifying the nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
Perform basic health care services for patients including checking vital signs or administering prescription medication.
Enables patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording patient condition, providing support and personal services, and teaching families.
Help with general light housekeeping.
Make transportation arrangements as needed.
Work with a nurse, personal care aide, a CNA, nurse aide, nursing assistant, and other caregivers and in-home care professionals.
Observe and report on patient condition.
Keep up with in-service training.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma.
● Reliable transportation.
● Must be able to pass the criminal background check.
● Must be able to provide references.
● Ability to work with little supervision.
● Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
● Have good personal hygiene.
● Able to do lighthouse keeping.
● Emotional Control.
