Job Summary

The primary function of the Behavior Analyst is to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients accessing behavioral services. After developing a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to each client, the Behavior Analyst manages and provides ongoing training/supervision to the intervention team regarding the implementation of the individualized treatment plan. In addition, the Behavior Analyst collaborates with related services providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate. The Behavior Analyst provides ongoing supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to improve and maintain the behavior-analytic, professional and ethical repertoires of RBTs and facilitate the delivery of high-quality services to clients. This job description describes essential job functions but does not provide an exhaustive list of duties that may be assigned. Specific duties & responsibilities will vary depending upon classification. This is a salary, full-time position.

  • Provide general rationale for all clinical decisions.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge and understanding of the scope and sequence of programming/curriculum.

Required Duties

  • Use appropriate assessment instruments and data to develop and implement teaching programs that reflect behavioral and other outcomes and objectives.
  • Demonstrate competence in analyzing assessment results, and design appropriate individual treatment plans and behavioral programs.
  • Administer, conduct, and evaluate behavioral assessments. This includes functional and industry-standard assessment measures.
  • Provide effective delivery of evidence-based behavior services through designing behavior support plans based on assessment results.
  • Ensure the implementation of treatment plans, document contacts, and observations
  • Provide training and supervision of the client’s intervention team through observation, meetings, performance coaching, and other methods.
  • Establish and maintain data measurement, collection, and analysis systems for clients receiving behavioral interventions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, as well as prepare and complete reports required for internal audits and contractual funding source purposes.
  • Use progress monitoring to review, evaluate and revise treatment plans and achievement of individual goals and objectives
  • When requested, act as the liaison between agency and funding sources effectively to communicate and advocate clients’ needs as pertains to evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure that all treatment plans and programs comply with contract requirements, satisfy all relevant funding source certifications and other expectations.
  • Coordinate with designated office staff to complete appropriate recruiting, selection, training, assignment, and retention of behavior technicians.
  • Seek creative options for ensuring the continuity and consistency of treatment and support services across settings for the lifespan of the client.
  • Develop strategies for the stability of quality services when clients experience transitions.
  • Provide staff development, training, and modeling for team members in strategies and methodologies for working with clients.
  • Provide oversight and evaluation of the effects of behavior-analytic service delivery.
  • Provide succinct written and vocal description of skill acquisition targets and behavior plans.
  • Demonstrate programs and behavioral interventions.
  • Maintain regular contact with Supervisory Analysts to receive support and feedback.
  • Assume the role of Response Accessor by conducting initial and renewal competency assessments for Registered Behavior Technicians in accordance with the BACB requirements.
  • Maintain records of Competency Assessment for Registered Behavior Technicians and ensure that the assessment meet quality standards even when using an Assistance Assessor.

Optional Requirements

  • Familiarity with conducting and interpreting VB-MAPP Assessments, EFL Assessments, SRS-2 Assessments.
  • Experience with the varying methods of data collection on CentralReach Software.

Qualifications

  • Must hold and maintain current certification as a BCBA or BCaBA
  • A Master's degree or Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or related field, with specialized knowledge of behavioral health and treatment philosophies and professional practices.
  • A minimum of three years of recent experience working with individuals who have ASD and their families.
  • Complete eight-hour supervision training curriculum designated by the BACB to provide supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians.
  • Knowledge of early childhood and autism assessment tools and procedures, and thorough knowledge of child development.
  • Experience developing positive behavior support plans and programs.
  • Experience teaching social interaction and play skills
  • Possess basic computer skills and ability to use all required software.
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation.
  • Maintain required licensure and certifications.
  • Maintain required number of billable units outlined in the service guidelines and procedures policies.
  • Requirements are subject to current BACB standards and ethical guidelines.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children that demonstrate verbally or physically aggressive behaviors.
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
  • Combination of in-home, center-based, direct and indirect services, as indicated by The Lovaas Center.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
  • Must be able to discern detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must be proficient in the language being targeted for acquisition by clients.
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
