Summary

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the LSU Student Union facility.

Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, grounds keeping, or food service work.

Special/Physical requirements:
This position works Thursday to Sunday. A satisfactory pre-employment background check and physical are required for hire. In accordance with University Policy Statement 18, this position is considered essential and may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of an emergency or closure.

This person must be capable of moving about in a 305,000-square-foot building multiple times daily to clean and prepare ballrooms, meeting/conference rooms, lobbies, office space, and exterior sidewalks, patios, and balconies. The person must also be able to ascend and descend the stairs of a 4-story building multiple times daily and stand for extended periods during cleaning processes. They must be capable of stooping, kneeling, and crouching to pick up litter, retrieve equipment, and clean restrooms, offices, lobbies, and maintain floors. This person should be capable of moving furniture that weighs 20-40 lbs. or more and transporting tables and chairs weighing 60-80 lbs. to set up for events throughout the building. Will use arms/hands to operate floor/power equipment to prepare and maintain floors. The person will work with and be exposed to common cleaning products.
