LOUi Consulting is Hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) Near Mountain, GA

Reports to: DCSD Liaison

Supervises: N/A

POSITION STATUS: Full-time - Non-Exempt, hourly

ESSENTIAL AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

LOUi Consulting Group, Inc. (LCGI) is looking for qualified candidates to provide occupational therapy services for students who require these services as a part of their Individual Education Program (IEP) and 504/Hospital Homebound plan within the Dekalb County School District (DCSD).


SCOPE OF WORK

The OT (Occupational Therapist) conducts evaluations to determine occupational therapy needs and assists with developing appropriate IEP goals and objectives. The OT participates in meetings, including but not limited to IEP and staff meetings. The OT maintains accurate records, attendance, and therapy notes, collaborates with teachers, parents, and other staff as needed to facilitate students' occupational therapy needs, and provides direct and in-direct services to students based on teacher goals. The OT adheres to federal, state, and district guidelines and supports current research and evidence-based practices.

Occupational therapists will perform all duties and responsibilities within their scope of practice based on Georgia State Law. These duties for the OT include, but are not limited to, performing observations/evaluations, providing therapy, creating training material, attending meetings, collecting data, recording attendance, completing therapy notes, and providing interventions to other staff as needed.


DUTIES

  • Work forty (40) hours per week, (excluding 30-minute lunch break) or as otherwise directed by the DCSD Coordinator of Speech-Language and Related Services on DCSD property, during school hours for no more than 186 days according to DCSD school calendar;
  • Conduct student evaluations for speech, occupational and/or physical therapy in accordance with DCSD procedures and timelines;
  • Provide Speech, Occupational, and/or Physical therapy through individual, small group, in-class and community models as directed by students' IEPs and 504 plans;
  • Provide services to students based on IEP goals, objectives and time indicators;
  • Maintain a daily log of services and hours worked;
  • Maintain appropriate student files, which will remain the property of DCSD.


QUALIFICATIONS


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in pediatric or related occupational therapy


Education

  • Bachelor of Science, master's degree, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school;

Training

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment;

Requirements

  • Georgia occupational therapy license
  • A resume and two (2) professional references are also required.
