Loudoun Rheumatology Center is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Leesburg, VA

Medical Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at a reputable rheumatology office. The ideal candidate will have a background in patient care, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our Physicians and ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.

This opening is for a full-time or part-time position. **The candidate must be bilingual in Spanish & English. **

Responsibilities:

1. Obtain and record patient vitals, health history, medication lists, and other relevant clinical information.

2. Ensure all necessary reports, labs, and imaging are in the patient’s chart prior to the visit and the encounter is prepped.

3. Coordinate patient referrals, appointments, and follow-up care as needed, ensuring seamless continuity of care.

4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records for all patients, documenting pertinent information and communication, updates, and concerns to providers.

5. Administer injections under the supervision & direction of the physician, following proper technique and adherence to established protocols.

6. Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean, stocked, and organized for patient appointments.

7. Answering, returning, and documenting patient phone calls and voicemails. Managing and routing medication refill requests.

8. Provide patient education on medications and provider recommendations in accordance with office protocols.

9. Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate efficient patient flow and optimize clinic operations.

10. Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.

11. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge of rheumatologic care.

12. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the rheumatology office.

Qualifications:

- Bilingual in Spanish & English

- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is preferred.

- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting. However, we are willing to train motivated candidates.

- Proficiency in medical terminology, EHR systems, and basic computer skills.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.

- Current CPR/BLS certification required.
