Job Overview:
Under general supervision of the EL Secondary Summer School Coordinator and/or other designated administrator, provide an instructional program consistent with the goals and objectives of the School Division as we strive toward deeper learning; implement an engaging and effective, personalized learning program to include small group instruction and a literacy and oral language focus, while utilizing high yield learning strategies and digital content that is aligned to targeted instruction to meet individual student learning needs; works with the school staff and community to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning and appropriate student behavior; utilizes available resources to ensure an effective credit summer school program; performs other duties as assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned; knowledge of pre-adolescent and adolescent growth and development; knowledge of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) curriculum related to assignments and School Division mission, goals, and organization; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; skill in the use of multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning; ability to plan and implement lessons based on Division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents; skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills.

Location: Sterling Middle School
Teacher Workdays: June 26 - 28 (8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
