Position Overview
The primary role of the Community School Parent Liaison is to empower parents to become active participants in the education of their children. The Community School Parent Liaison works directly with the local school Principal and staff by serving as a resource person for parents within their school community.

Roles and Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate:

• Provides parents with a variety of information about programs, school requirements, resources, special events, and/or activities.
• Supports the community school initiative by collaborating with the school social worker and school counselor to provide enrichment programs.
• Identifies and recruits community partners and stakeholders to share resources, both human capital and financial support.
• Assists parents and students to access the resources available at the school and county level.
• Supports student activities before and/or after the regular school day as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
• Relates well to people of all ethnic groups
• Ability to speak multiple languages preferred
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills

Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Pay Scale: Universal 6
FLSA status: Non-Exempt
Months/Days/Hours: 10 months, 184 days, 7 hours per day
Reports to: Principal
