SUMMARY:
The Los Alamos Public Schools’ Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction works directly with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to support student learning and achievement in the areas of curriculum alignment and teacher utilization of adopted curriculum, instructional materials, student assessment, professional development for staff and lead district data collection and analysis for informed decisions. The Assistant works to ensure that the district’s strategic plan and education objectives align with New Mexico’s adopted standards and with instructional practices that produce exceptional student achievement.
This position will assist in the instructional material adoption process, planning professional development, overseeing the state assessment program, managing data files, creating and maintaining the LAPS Staff Portal, managing curriculum inventory, supporting the annual budget planning process, and data collection and analysis for informed decisions. The Assistant works with the Curriculum Director to ensure that the district’s strategic plan and education objectives are aligned with New Mexico’s adopted standards and to instructional practices that produce exceptional student achievement.
The Assistant to the Curriculum Director reports to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Additional responsibilities may include School Board presentations, developing district calendars, and building positive working relationships with PED staff and the community.
