Los Alamos National Laboratory is Hiring a National Security Training Coordinator (Operations Support Specialist 4) Near Los Alamos, NM

What You Will Do
The Advanced Research in Cyber Systems (A-4) group is looking for an individual who can organize, plan, and execute both on-site and off-site training events for multiple national security programs.
A-4 focuses on assessing, preventing, preparing for, and responding to potentially catastrophic threats from across the cyber domain in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML);
Operational Technology (OT), training/workforce development, and critical infrastructure; quantum communication; and provably secure systems. The candidate will primarily be supporting programs which
teach cybersecurity incident response to DOE, other government agencies, US critical infrastructure, and international partners and the mission of preventing nuclear weapon proliferation and reducing
nuclear and radiological threats.
In this role, the candidate will contribute to and support various programs by providing oversight and leadership for operations, programs, and other areas that require task coordination to achieve deliverables.
The candidate will be responsible for expert-level support in managing client expectations, developing detailed project plans, defining scope of projects, understanding project risks and assigning team members
to specific tasks. This position is exceptionally customer service focused and requires a willingness to collaborate with both internal and external customers. This role requires a results-oriented attitude and the
willingness to support multiple projects with tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will have the ability to develop requirements and work collaboratively with service providers, internal and external to the laboratory, to implement solutions. The selected candidate will
be responsible for pre-meeting logistics, event location scouting, and scheduling, contracting, coordinating with visitors/attendees, providing day-of logistics, interfacing with federal sponsors and other high-level
officials, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Administrative
  • Provide expert input to and oversee various administrative functions in conjunction with or in support of operational program compliance, including planning, prioritizing, and scheduling of work activities,
    budgeting, cost tracking, resource planning, and in placing procurements.
  • Oversee the development of training, delivery of organizational or facility-level training, tracking and assurance of employee training/qualification.
  • Ability to lead special/emergent projects
Planning
  • Experience with the development of detailed plans to manage processes, scope, quality, efficiency, risk to deliverables, communications, and professional responsibility.
Demonstrate Timeliness
  • Punctual and operate in an environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines.
Teaming/Communication
  • Ability to work effectively, conscientiously, and professionally in a multidisciplinary and collaborative team environment.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Customer Service
  • Provides high-level customer service to internal and external customers while overseeing proper engagement with collaborative and support entities to ensure end-to-end delivery of tasks.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison between the Laboratory and various governmental agencies.
Policies and Procedures
Ability to follow, inform on, and implement improvements in procedures, policies, and processes as they are related to the assigned work.
Safety & Security
  • Knowledge and implementation of required safety, security and quality assurance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with senior personnel to ensure hazards and controls are identified, addressed, and implemented in procedures and operations.
Clearance
  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q/SCI clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related
to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Expert Institutional Knowledge: Knowledge of government, institutional, and organizational policies, practices, procedures, including policy and procedure development, implementation,
    regulations, and enforcement.
  • Expert knowledge in physical and cybersecurity, training and qualifications, feedback and process improvements.
  • Expert knowledge of Laboratory business and operations systems and standard software applications.
  • Active TS/Q and SCI clearances.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the

is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the
United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q/SCI (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for ,
access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to
access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
  • Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states
have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Term position: Regular-status Laboratory employees applying for term-status positions may retain regular status with approval of the cognizant Principle Associate Director.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible
to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee
has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. Please refer to Policy Policy P701 for applicant eligibility requirements.
Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st
and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
