Responsibilities

The Dispatcher / Truck Scale Operator will report into the Transportation Manager and will be part of a team responsible for the successful transactions of receipt, delivery of product and movement of equipment.

Knowledge of paving / construction equipment for use in the movement of asphalt paving operations and aggregate materials.

The position requires the scheduling of internal and external trucks coming in and out of the operation.

Communication and teamwork with operations, sales and customers is critical to achieving success in this position.

Communicate with customer contacts and truck drivers to verify accurate information regarding product orders, shipment locations, etc.

Create, maintain, and update loading schedules for trucks as well as communicate changes to scale and site supervisors. JWS APEX program knowledge preferred but not required.

Partner with sales employees to obtain accurate sales information to anticipate future business to efficiently schedule trucks.

Contact customers to communicate changes, delays, or concerns and to reschedule truck runs if needed.

Work with plant operators to ensure trucks are loaded on time and with the proper products.

Input necessary production, sale, and shipment data into proper electronic systems.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Problem-solving and prioritization skills.

Proficient computer skills.

Adept math skills

Willingness to work from 7AM – 4:00PM, plus overtime when support is needed.

Will be required to successfully pass a physical and drug test

Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Must be able to tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalts loading operations, as well as those of construction and maintenance related activities such as welding, painting, and tank cleaning.

High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
