Senior People and Culture Generalist

Lordstown EV Corp is seeking a Senior People and Culture Generalist who is accountable for building harmonious partnerships with employees and leaders across the organization. The role supports team member needs in the areas of employee relations, engagement, total rewards, learning and development, talent management, performance management and workplace safety. The position is on-site in Farmington Hills, MI.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Implement employee engagement activities to enhance the employee experience.
  • Perform routine people and culture operational and regulatory employment requirements and administer and execute programs including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, immigration, leave of absence management, investigations, and occupational and environmental health and safety.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, counseling, and appropriate solutions to leaders and employees on people and culture related matters. 
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase performance, productivity, and retention.
  • Engage leaders in the succession planning process by identifying talent, and support development opportunities for business continuity and growth.
  • Partner with leaders to improve operational performance by identifying areas of opportunity, facilitating necessary change programs, identifying training and individual coaching needs, and conducting learning programs as required. 
  • Use data and analytics to provide insights that guide HR solutions and drive efficiency.
  • Analyze compensation to ensure consistency in administration of salary offers relative to hiring, promotions, transfers, and internal equity.
  • Collaborate with outside immigration legal services to facilitate the immigration process including non-immigrant (i.e., OPT/STEM, EAD, H-1B, TN, etc.) and immigration petitions as it relates to extensions, amendments, transfers, and terminations.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in the company’s immigration program by working closely with employees and external immigration counsel. Serve as subject matter expert and point of contact with questions and case filings. 
  • Provide employees and managers with daily guidance on employment law, terms and conditions, and procedures. 
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development in support of company goals, HR strategy, best practice, and employment law requirements.
  • Conduct effective, thorough, objective and complete investigations, and document findings.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, determine trends, and recommend business and cultural improvements. 
  • Develop, and orchestrate all industry related environmental and occupational health and safety protocols, audits, inspections, programs, and training.
  • Maintain environmental and occupational health and safety regulatory compliance.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Years of Experience:

  • At least 5 years of HR experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Desired Abilities and Skills:

  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience in multiple human resource disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, immigration, organizational development, employee relations, DE&I, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws to guidelines, regulations, and policies.
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with team members.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with HRIS/HCM and talent management systems.
