As a member of the Electrical Systems group, the EE Systems Engineer is responsible for defining and specifying multiple vehicle subsystems. This position will receive supervision from the Supervisor or Manager of EE Systems.

 
Responsibilities: 

  • Establish requirements and develop SSTS (Subsystem Technical Specification) for various vehicle subsystems.
  • Coordinate cross functional teams for system level issue resolution and technical solutions from design through final validation and address SSTS gaps.
  • Lead system-level troubleshooting of vehicle issues, both at R&D Center and in the Plant
  • Develop cross subsystem DFMEAs early in the design process to identify system vulnerabilities and manage development of risk mitigation solutions.
  • Support vehicle issue resolution activities during development, vehicle launch, and post SOP service
  • Create, review, and approve change request documentation, technical specifications, and validation test plans.
  • Lead and/or participate in technical design reviews with adjacent functional areas.
  • Support vehicle level bus-load testing and other network related tests 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years automotive electrical/electronics development experience
  • Strong problem-solving mindset
  • Experience with *.dbc, *.ldf, and *.cdd files 
  • BS Electrical Engineering required; master’s degree preferred
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Deep Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS, and A2B 
  • MATLAB/ Simulink or other model-based programming methodologies
  • Experience using network testing and logging tools 
  • Problem solving experience where issues are unusual and difficult
  • Previous OEM and automotive experience preferred
  • Familiarity with requirements documentation tools such as Polarion or Doors

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Hybrid or Electric Vehicle experience
  • Familiarity with the light to mid-duty truck segment features such as trailer tow, cargo lighting, and up-fitters features
  • Vehicle networking architecture knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with implementing Over the Air (OTA) software updates
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO-26262)
  • Knowledge of SYSML or other systems development methodologies
  • Proficient in one or more relevant programming languages
  • Experience writing CAPL scripts or using other network automation techniques for system validation
