Job Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Investment Risk Manager with a specialized focus on alternative assets, including private credit, Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), and opportunistic credit investments. With approximately 10 years of experience, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in managing the unique risks associated with these asset classes. Proficiency in Python is encouraged to leverage advanced analytics and modeling in risk assessment. Candidates should also have familiarity or experience with public fixed income strategies and asset classes.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Alternative Asset Risk Management: Lead the risk assessment and management for a portfolio of alternative assets, including private credit, CLOs, and opportunistic credit. Develop strategies to identify, measure, and mitigate risks inherent in these investments. Devise a robust system of stress testing these strategies and vehicles for leverage, liquidity and default risks.
  • Quantitative Analysis: Utilize Python for quantitative analysis to enhance risk modeling and valuation techniques. Implement statistical analysis to improve risk assessment processes and enable risk-aware investment decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with our quantitative research, portfolio analytics, and technology teams to develop innovative risk techniques and risk infrastructure.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Conduct thorough portfolio analysis to ensure risk allocations and exposures are within mandates. Monitor performance, liquidity, and leverage metrics to identify potential risk exposures.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements specific to alternative investments. Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, highlighting key risk factors and mitigation strategies.
  • Investment Strategy Support: Collaborate with the investment team to integrate risk management perspectives into the investment process. Provide insights on market trends, risk factors, and potential impact on portfolio performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate complex risk information effectively to stakeholders, including investment teams, senior management, and external partners. Participate in strategic discussions to align risk management practices with business objectives.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, with a strong focus on alternative assets such as private credit, CLOs, and opportunistic credit.
  • Proficiency in Python for financial modeling and analysis; knowledge of other programming languages or statistical tools is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the regulatory landscape for alternative investments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and offer solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capability to articulate risk management concepts and strategies to a broad audience.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience in a collaborative team environment.
