The Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility is a alternative sentencing option for non-violent felony offenders who would otherwise be sentenced to prison. This facility currently houses 98 adult male felony offenders and 32 adult female felony offenders. This facility services Lorain and Medina Counties.
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the Chemical Dependency Counselor coordinates the Chemical Dependency Services for Lorain/Medina C.B.C.F. This includes assessment and assistance with case plan coordination for chemical dependency issues. Performs other duties as required.
Required Skills-
A Bachelors Degree is preferred. Certification as CDCA or higher by ODADAS. Computer skills required. Working knowledge of education and training in an adult environment. Knowledge of social and educational programs of felony offenders preferred.
Ability to plan, organize and administer adult substance abuse programs.
Skilled at oral and written communication.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, community resources, co-workers, etc.
Ability to work under stressful and demanding conditions.
Ability to effectively manage time and organize caseload.
Ability to schedule daily, weekly, and monthly work.
Ability to work independently.
Required to maintain First Aid & Adult CPR/AED Certification.
Automobile, automobile liability insurance, and an acceptable driving record is required. Valid Ohio Driver's License is required.
