BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Under the direct supervision of the unit supervisor, screens applicants/recipients for all public assistance programs by registering the applicants in the state and local computer systems and schedules interviews for Eligibility Referral Specialists. Prints mandatory verifications from different systems, gathers information for emergency assistance and schedules assessments of mandatory participants. Tracks and enters services into the state computer system and completes appropriate reports. Work with clients to schedule and reschedule appointments, dictate when appropriate, refer messages to workers. Assists with form completion for various programs; issues appropriate follow-up appointments; prepares income verifications and requests copies, documents, or verifications. Assists in coverage with other Unit Support Worker positions such as Screening, Front Desk, and the Call Center. Performs a variety of clerical duties: photocopying, scanning, light filing, takes messages, etc. Attends and participates in meetings and trainings. Completes monthly reports and enters information into computer system or other applicable databases as required. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction and reading and speaking common English vocabulary. Also requires one course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing and a valid driver's license.
- Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.
