Loop Recruiting is Hiring a Maintenance Shop Lead Near Camden, SC

Summary:

Our client is in search of a Maintenance Shop Lead to lead day-to-day maintenance operations and support a newly acquired truck shop in Camden, SC. This person will have an active role in building the maintenance team from the ground up in coordination with the Maintenance Director and oversee all maintenance processes including vehicle maintenance and repairs, technician training and troubleshooting support, KPI management, inventory control, billing & invoicing processes, and safety standards. This person will need to be a driven leader with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain an effective team of shop mechanics including the oversight of up to 5 mechanics.

· Make repairs, servicing, and maintenance on trucks, trailers, and pickups according to procedures.

· Execute preventative maintenance actions and schedule for fleet.

· Provide feedback and training to mechanics to build competency in maintenance actions and activities where we lack proficiency.

· Set expectations for each mechanic on the maintenance team in conjunction with the Maintenance Director and ensure team members meet expectations.

· Collaborate with the Maintenance Director in the planning process, and ongoing monitoring of staffing levels relative to work volume providing necessary workforce scheduling.

· Maintain shift schedules to ensure sufficient employee coverage.

· Ensure absenteeism, leave, terminations, and hiring are reported in a timely fashion on a regular cadence to the finance department and leadership for accurate team payroll.

· Monitor maintenance discrepancies to identify discrepancies caused by driver behavior that can be trained and remedied.

· Plan the department's workload and flow based on prioritization aimed at keeping maximum uptime.

· Recommend equipment/tool purchases to expand maintenance capabilities were safe and effective.

· Maintain cleanliness of shop; ensure well-organized and clean appearance.

· Coordinate on-road or in-field service calls as needed to include diagnosis and emergent maintenance actions where possible.

· Lead maintenance report in daily maintenance KPI Pulse meeting.

· Perform regular parts reconciliation to ensure necessary inventory is always on hand.

· Ensure technicians follow all safety procedures with a goal of zero safety incidents or mishaps annually.

· Maintain workshop 5S on a daily basis.

· Ensure all members of the maintenance team or individuals in shop and around equipment or trucks are wearing appropriate PPE.

Requirements:

· Master Diesel “A” Mechanic with at least 5 years’ experience managing mechanics and maintenance workshops.

· CDL license highly preferred but not required.

· Experience in an OEM agnostic dealership is preferred but not required.

· Factory training certifications in drivetrain, electrical, braking systems, etc. preferred but not required.

· Experience with use of Maintenance Management Systems and ability to learn and use shop MMS.

· Knowledgeable of diagnostic and repair systems with experience in multiple truck types

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Outlook)

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
