Description

As a Dispatcher, you will play a pivotal role in our waste management operations. Your primary responsibility is to coordinate drivers and containers, ensuring maximum productivity and delivering prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all our valued customers. We are seeking an individual with exceptional phone skills, effective communication abilities, and a strong customer service orientation. The ideal candidate must thrive in a multitasking environment and possess problem-solving acumen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To excel in this role, you must perform the following essential duties satisfactorily:

Route Assignment:

  • Daily route planning: Assign routes to drivers for the upcoming day.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails from field personnel, customers, and sales departments.
  • Manage requests for pick-up or delivery, ensuring timely service response.

Efficient Coordination:

  • Coordinate driver movements in the field based on received calls and customer service needs.
  • Optimize efficiency throughout the day by aligning driver schedules with service requirements.
  • Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site to resolve pick-up and other issues.

Issue Resolution:

  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems.
  • Prevent service disruptions by addressing issues before they escalate.
  • Relay any service-related concerns to management promptly.

Documentation and Communication:

  • Record and document relevant information from drivers.
  • Distribute essential data to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed routes, missed pickups, and incidents.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Key supervisory tasks include:

  • Route Audit Reports: Review and analyze route performance after completing routes.
  • Daily Load Count: Track the number of loads handled each day.
  • Daily Truck Status: Monitor the operational status of trucks.
  • Daily Customer Call Log: Document customer interactions and inquiries.
  • Daily Collections Worksheet: Maintain records related to collections.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Dispatch Experience: Demonstrated experience handling a variety of drivers simultaneously.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Professionalism: Courteous, cooperative, and respectful in interactions with customers and co-workers.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with a focus on timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
