About the Role: We are seeking a Product Certification Specialist with experience in the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our EV charging products meet all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to obtain and maintain necessary certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and monitor applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for EV charging products, and develop plans to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure that our products meet all applicable requirements and standards.
- Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and approvals for our products, including UL, CE, UKCA, CSA, Energy Star, CTEP/NTEP, FCC certifications
- Manage the certification process, including coordinating with third-party testing agencies, preparing testing plans, and reviewing test reports.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to product certification, including test plans, test reports, and compliance certificates.
- Participate in product design and development, providing input on design changes to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, and proactively identify opportunities to improve product certification processes.
- Participate in external standards working groups or otherwise contribute to new standards development
- Serve as a subject matter expert on product certification, providing guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality assurance, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in product certification, with experience in the EV charging industry preferred.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for EV charging products, including UL, CE, and FCC certifications.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure product compliance and obtain necessary certifications.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with product testing and evaluation, including test plan development, test report review, and compliance certificate issuance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for product certification activities.
Total Compensation Package (FTE):
- Salary: $75,000-89,000
- Opportunity to participate in ESOP
