Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. As a Veterinarian, you will provide medical care and treatment to a variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being. You will work closely with pet owners, offering guidance and education on proper animal care.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
- Perform surgical procedures, such as spaying/neutering, tumor removals, and other basic surgeries.
- Prescribe medications and administer vaccinations to prevent diseases
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care for animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, exercise, and preventative measures
- Maintain accurate medical records of all patients
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine and attend continuing education courses
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures
- Experience in animal husbandry, aseptic technique, kennel management, dog handling, and animal care
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and provide critical care when necessary
