POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Construction Technical Support Specialist  will provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, program activities at Savannah River Site (SRS). This position will provide construction staffing operations support to the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility Project. Primary responsibilities include assisting in the operation of a construction project team. 
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
• Compile construction reporting data by collecting, organizing, and analyzing construction staffing metrics as directed.
• Create working level Organization charts in Visio and PowerPoint software formats in support of multiple subprojects
• Review details of Confidential Staffing resumes for adherence to job postings
• Create working level Organization charts in Visio and PowerPoint software formats in support of multiple subprojects.
• Provide technical support in streamlining construction work process flows to maximize efficiency and automation
• Facilitate meetings to maximize efficiency
• Handle and review SRPPF documents to support the construction process.
• Perform as a member of the CM team for the SRPPF project reviewing technical project documents accessing Secret Restricted data on a daily basis.
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a science, engineering or task relevant discipline. Equivalency Requirements, may be applied in lieu of education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years supporting commercial or federal science, nuclear engineering or other task relevant programs or projects. Desired Qualifications 
  • Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office applications.
  • Practical experience in construction or construction management.
  • Produce written documents with organized structure and grammar. 
  • Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, trust, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Plan work in a responsible manner. Balance company goals vs. schedule, budget, etc.

LOCATION
Savannah River Site - Aiken, SC. Position will be primarily performed at SRS and various off-site locations as needed.
The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation. A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). The work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. The period of performance shall be for a period of one year from award of this agreement. SRNS reserves the right to exercise one additional, one-year option.
