Long-Lewis is Hiring a Parts Inventory Specialist- Full Time Near Muscle Shoals, AL

Join our team as a Parts Inventory Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our parts department and supporting our service team. As a Parts Inventory Specialist, your duties will encompass various tasks related to maintaining the parts inventory, managing incoming parts, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the parts room and service shop.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Parts Inventory: Regularly monitor and update the parts inventory system, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment of parts as needed.
  • Check-In Parts: Receive and check in parts as they arrive from suppliers, verifying accuracy and quality, and promptly staging them for technicians or placing them into inventory.
  • Organize Parts Room: Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and tidiness of the parts room to facilitate efficient access to parts and tools for technicians and staff.
  • Support Service Operations: Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to fulfill parts requests, locate needed parts, and ensure timely delivery to meet service appointment deadlines.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular physical inventory counts and audits to reconcile discrepancies, identify obsolete or slow-moving parts, and implement strategies for inventory optimization.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers who visit the parts department, answering inquiries, recommending parts and accessories, and processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Parts Delivery: Assist with delivering parts to technicians in the service bay, ensuring they have the necessary components to complete vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • General Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks in the parts room and service shop, such as sweeping, mopping, and organizing shelves, to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in parts inventory management or automotive parts sales preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for parts delivery).
