Position Summary

You will be installing temperature and building automation control (BAS) systems on various customer jobsites across the state of Alaska. You will work within the LONG Building Intelligence (BI) Unit, which specializes in building automation and temperature control solutions. This position is collectively bargained. Pay Range: $39 - $43 depending on local union current rates.

Responsibilities

• Install controllers, field devices, electrical cable, conduit systems (EMT, GRC, PVC, etc.), copper tubing (with solder joints), and plastic tubing in a neat and workmanlike manner
• Stay familiar with installation materials and control devices; their function, use, and proper mounting & installation
• Work independently and be able to coordinate job installation and completion with onsite personnel, but also ask for guidance before starting an unfamiliar task
• Report discrepancies between LONG drawings and mechanical/control equipment onsite
• Attend product training and information classes to maintain and enhance controls knowledge
• Assist with job commissioning, start-up procedures, and owner training if necessary

Required Qualifications

• State Journeyman Electrical License
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years of related temperature/building automation control field installation experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Ability to read wiring schematics, all types of blue prints, and DDC/BAS control drawings
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to locate, layout, and install control devices
• Knowledge of all applicable electrical and mechanical codes
• Good mathematical skills
• Open to working overtime, varied shift hours, and occasional travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Installation experience with Schneider, Tridium, KMC, Johnson Controls and other DDC/BAS controls
• OSHA training or certification
• CPR/First Aid Certificate

Environment:

• Indoor and outdoor environment
• Periodic In-state travel required

Physical Requirements

• Routine sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling
• Ability to lift 75 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor
• Ability to climb a ladder and function at heights
