Join in on the excitement and become part of our thriving organization! We are seeking a Personal Auto Underwriting Supervisor to join our team! The Underwriting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the Personal Lines Underwriting team with a strong focus on quality and timeliness. They will review exceptions and make determinations based on established Underwriting rules and procedures. Individual will schedule, prioritize and assign work for optimum productivity. Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify training needs and assist in designing training programs for department and employees
Monitor and report on processing and phone performance standards for each employee
Perform monthly assigned number of underwriting and processing audits for each employee
Provide input for performance appraisals on processing, underwriting quality and quantity
Provide input for any processing or underwriting related performance issues
Develop positive and productive relationships with Independent Producers
Mentor and guide Underwriting staff
Coordinates efforts with the internal business partners in the areas of Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Accounting, and Human Resources to ensure operational efficiencies at the branch level
Continuously logged into the Personal Lines ACD (last in queue)
May perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
College degree, or related industry experience
3 years of underwriting experience
Solid knowledge of technical underwriting
Ability to work independently on technical and administrative matters in accordance with company policy and procedures
Possess leadership, training and development abilities
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
