Job Description
The Research and Development Engineer Intern will work with Lone Star's research and development
team, Cipher Alchemy, who generate new, innovative ideas to expand Lone Star's solution portfolio. The
position will include shadowing research and development team members, assisting on projects,
interfacing with internal customers, and working closely with the software development team
leadership.

Responsibilities
• Assist in development of algorithmic approaches to improve our solutions
• Work with internal users to ensure new tools are being used to their full effect
• Test other developer's code to ensure functionality
• Research vendors, products & tools, and present findings to leadership
• Help technology team implement new algorithmic approaches into production software
products
• Assisting in government proposal applications
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements
• Must be comfortable with the prospect of working across several industries (Aerospace,
Defense, Manufacturing, Energy, Transportation, Logistics, and Telecom) and across several
domains (Operations, Asset Management, Maintenance, Technology, and Others) as required.
• Must be highly collaborative and capable of working in a team-based environment.
• Excellent communication skills
• Able and willing to work creatively while accepting input from others
• Capable of operating independently or as a team player

Additional Qualities
• Degree in mathematics, statistics, data science or similar
• Experience in stochastic modeling, optimization, or machine learning
• Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint

Education & Experience
• Minimum one year of accredited college or university studies
