Emergency Care Attendant

SUMMARY: The mission and purpose for this position with Lonestar Ambulance is to compassionately deliver high-quality service in a professional and caring manner for mobility impaired individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include transporting patients to and from medical appointments. Other duties may be assigned.

The following list represents the primary responsibilities of a ECA.

• Ability to use smartphones devices
• Communicate with receiving facility to receive appropriate information.
• Communicate with patient and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given, and to show compassion.
• Communicate with dispatcher to receive and understand call data and customer feedback.
• Monitor and maintain the general condition of the unit, keep it clean and stocked for optimal call response.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures and safety requirements.
• Follow policies and procedures regarding out-of-chute times and turnaround times.
• Ability to work past scheduled shift with little or no notice.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must frequently transfer, maneuver, load and otherwise move clients.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must have a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Current and valid State of Texas DL.
• Current ECA/EMR Certification
• Driving Record in compliance with Lone Star Ambulance insurability requirements.
