Job Summary: The MRI Imaging Specialist performs highly specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations. Operates specialized MRI equipment and software to obtain images of human anatomy for diagnostic and/or therapeutic determinations. Follows established departmental standard operating procedures to provide optimal imagery for diagnosis processes. Maintains responsibility of patient's safety, care and monitoring. Performs functions such as processing of data for image reconstruction, transfer to Picture Archiving Communications System, quality control and quality improvement. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate from a Radiology Technologist Program required. Minimum two years of MRI experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge to proficiently operate appropriate MRI equipment. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Licensures and Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required. Intravenous (IV) certification required.
