Associate Attorney

Lokken & Putnam, P.C. is immediately seeking a full-time associate attorney to work in the area of Juvenile Court Parental Defense, Family and/or Criminal Law. Our firm directly assists families with reunification through a multidisciplinary team approach. Parental defense is a rewarding and evolving area of practice. Applicants will manage an active caseload of parents or guardians that have become involved with the Division of Child and Family Services and the child welfare system. This is a “think on your feet” position that requires an active legal mind. Additional opportunities exist for paid appointments in both District and Juvenile Courts defending parents in termination of parental rights matters (adoptions). We have a multidisciplinary team and also employ full time social worker staff.

Example of Duties: Case management, creative problem solving, active communication with clients, collaboration with community partners, court attendance (2-3 times per week), motion drafting, responses or other court related documents, discovery and trial preparation. Applicant will also attend training and applicable CLE courses.

We are a 9 attorney firm located in Cottonwood Heights with a relaxed, but professional atmosphere. Experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate. This job is an excellent opportunity to gain courtroom experience, and litigation skills. Attorneys are trained and mentored in a team environment.

Salary range depends on experience and attorney abilities, but typically begins around $90,000. Attorneys with a strong work ethic, can expect to exceed the base salary amount.
