Job Description and Responsibilities
The NASA-KSC Artemis Program Advanced Planning Analyst and Data Science position requires fundamental understanding Industrial Engineering and Operations Research with proven experience in developing analytical models, performing quantitative and objective analyses, and using the latest Computer Off-The Shelf (COTS) data science, analytics, and data visualization tools, (e.g., Tableau, power BI) to collect, integrate, and report meaningful metrics from a variety of data sources.
This position entails providing quantitative analysis, metrics and insights that will help drive operational efficiencies during Artemis flight hardware processing and will be used to inform critical NASA Program decisions. The candidate must be able to understand current NASA data repositories and structures to assist in defining future data products for evaluating contract performance.
Expectations
· Familiarity with launch vehicle commodity usage, launch probability assessment, firing room asset acquisition priorities, schedule performance to plan analysis, battery lab analysis, etc. is preferred to support programmatic data-driven decisions.
· Understanding of schedule risk development and management preferred.
· Understanding of program level requirements documents preferred.
Minimum Requirements
· 10 years’ experience of related experience and an advanced Master’s degree. Preferably experience in launch vehicle, facility, payloads, transportation, test integration, and operations.
· Knowledge of ground support equipment utilized for flight hardware lifting, servicing, integration, and operations.
· Knowledge of Concept of Operations development, integration, and implementation.
· Proficiency in technical document review to include design drawings.
· Self-starter with outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Effective and clear communicator with the ability to present technical issues.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment co-located with multiple cross program customers and contractors.
· Flexible to changing work demands, multi-task, operate with minimal direct supervision, and meet all customer deadlines.
· Proven work (mid-level) as a cohesive team member with many different technical experts in a dynamic schedule-driven environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook, as well as commercial business applications.
Education and Relevant Work Experience
This position requires a MS in Engineering with very strong Industrial Engineering or Operations Research experience and 10 years of relevant work experience.
