Logan County Sheriff's Office is Hiring a Grant Writer / HR Coordinator Near Bellefontaine, OH

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

GRANT COORDINATION AND ADMINISTRATION:Responsible for entire grant process including:

  • Understand the structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the LCSO.
  • Research local, state and federal grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
  • Draft grant proposals and supporting documents and track through approval process.Assist in budget development and monitoring of receipts and expenditures.
  • Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
  • Explain rules and regulations to be followed to ensure grant compliance.
  • Monitor grant activity and progress
  • Prepare and submit all associated reports.
  • Record keeping to prepare for local, state and federal audits as needed
  • Maintain positive relationships with fund providers.

HUMAN RESOURCES:

  • Maintain, file and update personnel records.
  • Maintain employee leave records including sick, vacation, personal days, comp time, military leave, FML, etc.
  • Acts as administrator for the FMLA and Sick Leave programs.
  • Assist employees with medical insurance issues.
  • Complete Personnel Action forms to coordinate personnel changes with the Auditor's Office.
  • Stay current on and advise the Admin. staff to changes in HR laws.
  • Administer Safety Program & maintain OSHA logs.
  • Administer Workers Compensation claims and transitional work program.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Responsible for greeting persons who come to the window, answering questions and directing them to the proper resource.
  • Answering the phones and interacting with persons via fax and email, taking messages, answering questions and redirecting as needed.

OFFICE ERRANDS:

  • Responsible for daily run to the County Office Complex and other various errands.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT:

Prior experience in grants management and application process preferred; general writing experience required.

Knowledge of FMLA, ADA and Workers Compensation administration.

Working knowledge of law enforcement and able to adapt grant programs to a law enforcement environment.

Must be Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook proficient.

Able to operate computers, calculators, adding machines, copiers, fax machines and other common office equipment.

Must have working knowledge of county and office used computer programs by the end of probation.

Able to gather, collate and classify information.

Good verbal and written communications skills.

Must have good inter-personal skills and be able to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships with co-workers and other agencies and individuals.

Able to remain seated for long periods of time.

Must support the goals and objectives of the LCSO.

Associate Degree in related field or minimum of 3 years experience required.

Must pass all LCSO general employment requirements.

Must have reliable transportation to work.
