Job Summary

Receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within established policies and procedures for organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily including the following.

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer purchase orders.
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from vendors.
  • Phone orders & counter sales.
  • Maintains inventory records. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience/Education/Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office 360 and other Microsoft products/systems. Strong technical aptitude, including ability to learn new systems quickly and train/support team in adoption.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation, which includes a motor vehicle check, and drug screen.

  • Must frequently lift and /or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; over 40 pounds must be a team lift or utilize the appropriate tool(s) to assist.

  • Must be able to regularly talk or hear.
