We are currently seeking a new Warehouse Custodian/Janitor that is detailed and team driven to join our first shift warehouse crew at our facility in Des Moines, IA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Create a clean, orderly, and safe environment by performing a wide variety of cleaning and maintenance activities through out our large warehouse.
• Responsible for maintaining a level of cleanliness throughout the facility that meets all food industry regulations and company standards.
• Required to perform light maintenance work and incidental seasonal tasks.
• Responsible for ensuring that job specific equipment is in proper working order and communicating with management for repairs needed.
• Sweeping, dusting and sanitizing of general work areas, outside perimeter of building, break rooms, and restrooms
• Emptying trash throughout warehouse and grounds
• Complete monthly, quarterly and yearly detailed cleaning tasks
• Complete additional cleaning tasks based on monthly internal audits
• Assist maintenance in large cleaning projects – banana rooms and cooling units
• Must be a self-directed individual with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.
• Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.

Equipment training-

• Floor scrubber
• Scissor lift
• Pallet jack (Ride on/walk behind)

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred with 1 year of experience.
• Individual must obtain license to operate warehouse equipment forklift and pallet jack and cleaning equipment and tools within the first 30 days.
• Must have knowledge and training of sanitation solutions and hazardous materials.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret company documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must have the ability to perform basic math calculations.
