POSITION: LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST

LOCATION: To be determined
Full-time
Ten Months
Salary: Per Negotiated Agreement


The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Earned Master's Degree in Library Media Specialist (Preferred)
2. Current NYS certification as School Library Media Specialist (Required)
3. Experience at the school Library Media Specialist level (Strongly Preferred)
4. Comprehensive understanding of Common Core Learning Standards and NY state assessments
5. The ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool
6. Uncompromising commitment to continuous improvement
7. Broad experience with a variety of instructional techniques
8. Ability to differentiate instruction for accelerated and delayed learners
9. Evidence of strong classroom management skills with age appropriate experiences
10. Flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to develop programs
11. Evidence of being a team player
12. Ability to facilitate a library and district resources that support the academic programs in the Lockport City School District
13. Evidence of the ability to collaborate with faculty to design standards based activities
14. Commitment to working with all members of the community to accomplish the goals of the district
