Lochmueller Group is Hiring a Stormwater & Hydraulics Project Engineer Near Charles, MO

We are looking for an experienced Civil or Environmental Engineering professional to join our Water Resources team. This position will focus on hydraulic modeling, planning, and design.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a Professional Engineer with significant experience in collections systems (including sanitary and storm sewers) as well as drinking water transmission and distribution. This position will be a part of a dynamic Water Resources team that helps municipalities and utilities provide clean water to their customers and our communities. Lochmueller Group works with our clients to plan, design, build, maintain and operate water infrastructure with a focus on sustainability and improved water quality.

In this position, the candidate will:

  • Work as a project engineer and/or technical lead performing hydraulic modeling and design development for a variety of projects.
  • Perform hydraulic computations and checks for stormwater, sanitary sewer, and drinking water projects.
  • Ensure project designs are in conformance with the latest design specifications.
  • Plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of hydraulic models and engineering reports.
  • Understand and work with hydrologic, surveying, geotechnical, and other relevant data.
  • Read and interpret schematic and construction plans.
  • Apply a variety of specification regulations, policies and standards to assure compliance with various Federal, State, and local rules and regulations.
  • Review operational practices to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.
  • Provide mentorship to junior level staff.
  • May perform other duties associated with this role.
Qualifications for this role:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or another applicable engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 5 years of experience performing hydraulic modeling and design development.
  • Experience with collections system and distribution modeling software such as XPSWMM, PCSWMM, SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, OpenFlows, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Infoworks, Pizer Hydra,and/or Autodesk SSA.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Storm CAD and Bentley Microstation is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
