The City of Frontenac is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works Laborer. Successful candidates will be responsible for the operation of a variety of construction and maintenance equipment, and for performing manual labor activities as needed or required by the Public Works Department. Street, water and sewer system maintenance is the most common type of work performed but other public works activities such as grass cutting, park maintenance, meter reading and heavy equipment operations are also necessary for the job.
Working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Working overtime, holidays, and call-ins may be required.
The City of Frontenac offers a generous benefit package which includes 100% employer paid family health insurance, KPERS, 401(a) match, life insurance, and paid leave.
The hiring range is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.; actual rate determined by experience.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Kansas Driver License. Candidate should be self-motivated and be able to work with limited supervision. High School Diploma or GED is recommended but not required. Pre-employment testing may include a background check, drug screen and physical.
