General Manager – Roles and Responsibilities
· The primary role of the General Manager is to direct the day to day tasks and field operations of The business, and to ensure that quality standards and are productions goals are being achieved.
· The General Manager is to manage the accounts within the portfolio. Ensure a high level of client satisfaction to achieve maximum client retention and renewal rates, and to generate increased enhancement sales.
§ Will be collaborative effort with ownership for commercial and government clients until a dedicated and qualified account manager is put in place.
· The General Manager will ensure that budget projections, quality standards, and client retention rates are maintained within the business goals.
· Every morning ensure that crews leave the yard well equipped within ten minutes of start time.
· Every afternoon ensure that crews shut down and prepare for the following day of work.
· Manage efficiency of production routes and schedule. Make appropriate adjustments to schedules after rain days.
· Manage the incorporation of new customers in to appropriate routes.
· Identify routes where density (more customers can be added)
· Manage appropriate crew sizes for maintenance and construction activities. Keep ownership informed of over or under staffing.
· Limit the amount of unbillable labor.
· Schedule and coordinate construction projects, includes procurement of materials and delivery.
§ Notify ownership of urgent material shortages or procurement issues that might affect start or completion date.
§ Ownership will be available to assist with procurement and logistics on larger projects when heavier construction management needs are required.
· Insure construction projects are being completed on time and within budget through coordination and collaboration with job foreman.
§ Notify ownership of any risks or unknown conditions that might affect the timely completion or financial health of a project.
§ Ownership will be available to assist with project management duties on larger projects when heavier construction management needs are required
· Perform vehicle inspections and follow up on repairs. Inform ownership of urgent breakdowns that need immediate attention.
· Manage equipment for operational readiness and maintenance needs.
§ Will be collaborative with ownership.
· Make sure crews are performing the equipment maintenance that they are responsible for, such as blade sharpening, fluids and filters, and lubricating.
· Make recommendations to ownership for equipment that will make tasks more efficient and reduce labor costs.
· Manage and respond to crews’ emergencies.
· Manage the execution of unplanned work requests.
· Perform timely follow up on client requests.
· Manage and respond to new and existing customer quote requests. Manage requests with in companies CRM tool.
§ During certain times of the year when quote requests are high and more sales resources are needed, ownership will fill this need until a dedicated account manager is put in place.
§ For larger construction projects, ownership will work with general manager to make sure accurate and timely estimates and quotes are delivered.
· Notify ownership of any commercia maintenance or construction quote requests.
· Perform quality inspections at job sites; generate property action reports and follow up
· Ensure overall landscape quality at sites
· Communicate constantly with crew foreman regarding quality
· Administer regular quality inspections at client sites
· This will be accomplished by accurately understanding the client’s expectations and exceeding those expectations though superior service
· Provide technical training to crews
· Manage conflict resolution
· Provide safety and equipment training to crews
· Track and manage attendance and time off (paid and unpaid)
· Perform disciplinary action
· Manage time sheets daily
· Manage material and tool requisition (fertilizer, small tools, etc.)
· Respond to and report injury and accidents
· Follow, train on and enforce safety practices
· Train and build core production teams
· Fill out accident reports as necessary
· Fill out disciplinary action and other HR forms as necessary
· Manage site quality forms

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,400.00 per week
