Production Scheduler (Casting)

The Production Scheduler (Casting) prepares detailed cast schedules based on ingot demand and established Hot Line rolling dates. He / she ensures sufficient raw materials are in place to execute the schedule at maximum capacity with minimal change over time. The main objective of the Production Scheduler is to ensure that Hot Line is supplied with the appropriate ingot at the right time to meet established customer demand and production targets.
Responsibilities
· Create weekly Casting schedule based on Hot Line rolling dates (20%)
· Forecast and control alloy hardener needs (10%)
· Collaborate with Supply Chain and Secondary Converters (10%)
· Maintain working knowledge of prime, high purity, and RSI inventories
· Collaborate with Hot Line Department and Planners to utilize “extra” ingots (5%)
· Evaluate Casting performance by measuring conformance to set schedule (5%)
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Math, or related field strongly preferred
· Three to five years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred
· Industry (aluminum) experience strongly preferred
· Experience w/ working safely in heavy manufacturing environment strongly preferred
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
· Familiarity with aluminum alloys preferred
· Knowledge of volumes, capacities, and limitations of Casting Production unit preferred
· Experience w/ physical inventory stock take & tracking items preferred
· Auditing experience preferred
· Experience in working with chemistries of aluminum alloys a plus
