Position: Case Manager - Fiduciary Services
Key Words: Conservator, Guardian, Fiduciary, Trustee, Senior, Advocate, Care Coordinator, Case Manager
Location: Primarily Remote with on-site duties and appointments around Orange County, CA.
Work Environment: This is a primarily remote position with appointments and site visits in the Orange County Area. Occasional appointments outside the Orange County area. Will require some week-end and/or after regular work hour activities.
Time: This position is flexible part-time. Flexible 10-20 hours per week to start with potential for growth into a 40-hour week depending on employee’s performance and caseload.
Closes: Position is open until filled and may close at any time
Anticipated Rate of Pay:
$30 per hour per billable hour on a billable-time basis after probationary period.
Estimated annual compensation of $30,000.00 per year at ~20 hours a week.

Job Description:
The Case Manager position consists of assisting the Professional Fiduciary with their duties as Trustee, Conservator, Guardian, Power of Attorney, and other capacities.
Case Manager is to work through a prioritized task list established by and under the supervision of the fiduciary while maintaining accurate activity based time records in an established time keeping system. Case Manager is to confer with the fiduciary and other staff, work independently on an assigned task, keep detailed records, update internal files, and report back to the fiduciary regarding any decision making.
Tasks assigned pertain to supporting activities of the administration of a trust or estate, conservatorship or guardianship of an individual, financial and/or healthcare matters of a client, and other project management tasks.

Requirements:
Reliable personal vehicle for use on the job (valid driver's license and current auto insurance required)
Bachelor’s degree (Ideal areas of study: business, finance, legal, care management, or similar)
Working proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Working proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, etc)
Impeccable integrity
Excellent professional business written and verbal communication style.
Remarkable organization skills.
Excellent time management.
Ability to work on multiple cases contemporaneously and track billable time.
Ability to set and meet case goals and meet court-imposed deadlines.
Ability to learn new concepts and processes quickly and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to follow detailed procedures.
Ability to function well in stressful situations and show empathy in all circumstances
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with clients, other professionals, and client’s family-and-friend network to contribute to positive outcomes for clients who experience numerous challenges.
Preferred Knowledge / Skills:
Experience with Case Management.
Basic knowledge of estate planning, probate court system, and Professional Fiduciary standards and codes of conduct.
Experience with banking, investing, bookkeeping, accounting, household budgeting, finance, real estate, business management, insurance.
Experience with Health Care Systems, Care Communities, Public Benefits (including Medicare, IHSS, Medi-Cal & Geriatric benefits), Social Services, Mediation.
Knowledge of health care issues relevant to incapacitated adults, issues relative to persons who are elderly, mentally ill or developmentally disabled.
Ability to develop rapport with persons experiencing cognitive disabilities or dementia; and with their families.
Knowledge of crisis intervention strategy and advocacy principles.
Physical Demands:
Essential functions of this position require ability to work at a computer or over the phone to complete and coordinate various tasks. Ability to drive to and from appointments and meetings.
Occasional functions include walking and standing, lifting up to 50 pounds of force or carry, push, or otherwise move objects, manual dexterity, large motor skills. May need to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle.
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem-solving skills are important. Individual must function well in stressful situations.
